About a year ago I bought a 96 Civic with a bad engine. I got another engine and swapped out the bad one, and much to my surprise it started! After fixing a stuck IAT (sensor on the throttle body that air runs through) it idles fine. At this point there are no more codes bieng thrown, but A/T upshifts from 1to2 ok, 2to3 and on up are 'hard' or almost like a quick rev up- then down (like one second) but the car shudders and it is quite noticeable.

I read many posts about the 'standard' honda transmision problems, but all those I read mentioned codes bieng thrown. In this case the engine light remains silent.

I have drained/refilled twice with honda ATF, there was no change in the symptom.
