redilling 4x114.3 watanabes into 4x100s
is this a bad idea? i know some race rims come as blanks and the race teams drill 'em to their own pattern, etc....
but i found this set of watanabe RS8s for cheap in 4x114.3 and i want 'em on my car so so badly...
there's plenty of 'meat' in the other 4 spokes of the watanabes. i also am very friendly w/ my local machinist. if he can't do it, there's a rim repair shop that possibly can.
any advice much appreciated.

I really wouldnt do that.
when something is engineered to have said holes in it and you go putting other holes in it stress risers are being created , structurally i wouldnt trust it at all.

I WOULD drill them! Today if you weld a blank in and then redrill it its plenty strong provided its in solid metal!
The thing about americans is if it doesnt work- get something that does..
The rest of the worlds demands a way to make things work! It can be done.. And it is safe!

If a spacer is needed get a 114.3 to 100 adapter that has the correct spacing. The main problem is the smallest size for this adapter is 20mm.
Or get set of 4x100 RS-8's. The polish lip 15x7 offset 35~45 can bought used for $150~$250/set over here.
