Default skunk 2 stage 2 camshafts in b18c (gsr)

I want to put the skunk 2 stage 2 camshaft into my 97 gsr.
If anyone has them in there car, i just want someones opinion on how they perform. does it drastically change the idle or not? can you stick with stock timing or do you have to adjust?

you'll need skunk2 valve springs and retainers or something equivelant. Idle should be similar to stock, although tuning will determine how they preform. The clearances are rather tight, so I'd suggest using adjustable cam gears and keeping them 4 degrees apart. At 0,0 in vtec, the valves are 1/10,000th away from each other. Wobble= broken valves, ect. Id think about some stage I's or itr/ctr if you don't have the money for some kind of tuning platform. Do some research and make sure your prepared for a stage II cam.

One other thing that should be mentioned is that skunk2 stage 2 cams may not be the cams your looking for, with stock compression you will deffinantly not see as good of gains as you would if you had higher compression. Read into buddy club III's... those might be more up your alley for stock compression.

will they work with higher c/r? say around, 11:1?

Skunk2 reccomends at least 11:1:1 for stage II cams. They will find full potential between 11:5:1 and 11:8:1. They may make a little power with even higher compression, but at that time you may as well start thinking about stage III's. FYI, I'm going to be running sk2 stageII's in my ls/vtec with 11:9:1 compression.
