rpm's on stock 1.5 civic hatch dx?
Hello all new to the forums here. I have a 95 civic hatch with a 1.5 stock motor. I use this car to drive 120 miles each day. Over the weekend I replaced the rear main seal, clutch, and I bought a stock used 5 speed tranny out of a cx,dx,vx,si hell no one told me the model. Everything bolted up fine and runs great. Problem is my little green shift light comes on in 5th gear. I bought a si cluster and installed in the car so I would have the rpm guage and it reads 2900 @ 70 mph. It seems a little higher than the previous tranny plus like I said the shift light comes on now. Anyone still run a stock sohc 1.5 that can give me some insight on this? I assumed the 92-95 5 speed trannys were all the same gear ratio.
Thanks,
Shane
Thanks,
Shane
cx and vx are the longest gears, then dx, and ex and si have the shortest ratios. so since u have a dx the tranny u prob got an ex or si since the rpms are higher.
