here's a new problem...
car won't start... I knew that this would probably turn a few heads. Car turns over fine, but no spark. Off of the number two ign. wire, there is serious arch from the wire to the what would be coil tower on the distributor cap. I checked the first wire, and there is no spark, does anyone know if this is a coil problem or cap problem? the cap from what i could tell had a crack in where the coil tower is on the inside of the cap, but on the outside, there is no sign of a crack. Does anyone think that its the coil or that maybe it's the ign. wire? I checked the wire for cracks or holes, but no evidence. I live in Cincinnati, and it has been non stop shitty weather for about two weeks now, and i didn't feel like taking the distributor apart out in the rain. I know i can check the coil w/ a voltmeter, but im just curious if anyone has an info or help where i can stay dry?
If your cap is cracked in any way shape or form REPLACE it! That should fix your problem unless your wires are crapped out and need to be replaced too.
