Default turbo gsr backfire @6k rpm

alright guys, heres the deal. my motors been broken in for about 800 miles now and i decided to test it for the first time (un-tuned). btw, its a 95 gsr running dsm450cc's, t3/t04e custom drag settup with 3"dp straight through 3" n1 muffler, ngk bkr7e sparks gapped right, vafc hack, chipped ecu, with nos inline fuel pump, aem fpr, je pistons & rings (honed)/stock rods, new oem rebuilt gsr head and no boost controller. well i was looping down the freeway entrance ramp and punched to about 6krpm on first gear when i heard a loud backfire noise from the end of my exhaust and slowly shifted to higher gears driving normal on the freeway. what could have been the problem?? also, its running rich. hrmmms... i think its time to dyno tune too.

Did you reduce the distance of the contacts of the NGK's ? I got the same problem until I reduced it to 0,8mm.

Why are you running a hack when you have a chipped ecu? I guarantee you could to take an uberdata basemap to redline with no issues.

I wouldn't. Depending on who made the UberJuber basemap, how many brain cells they had active during making it, how conservative they made it, how the plugs are gapped and various other factors beyond our understanding and control, I'd say your comment re: Uberdata baseline is totally off base.

A rich basemap with some timing pulled out made by a person with many brain cells. How's that?
