Default BRAKE CALIPERS

Hi, my left brake caliper is seizing, it doesnt let the brake pad to come off of the

rotor sometimes and sometimes it makes a grinding metal noise when i turn. (it

gets louder when i turn) So I'm planning on changing my calipers and brake pads.

I've been told that i cant just change one caliper only, I gotta change both. Even

thothere is nothing wrong with my right one. Now is that really nessesary? Why

cant I change just one?

Also, where can i get some cheap remanufactured or new calipers for 97 lx ?

Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

WOW

Who ever told you that is a numb nut.

Calipers

I have never needed to do both if only one side is bad, in the many of years I have been working on autos.

Even with ABS systems.

Now for break PADS that is different. You do want to do those in pairs, not single side.

Good luck

I agree, who ever told you that must have been selling calipers. As for cheap ones I usually get them at Autozone. Also, if you are doing it yourself and have another way of getting there it is always nice to bring the old one in when you get the new one so you don't have to waste your time coming back with the old one to get your core money. Good luck.
