Default High mileage LS rods in LS/Vtec...should I purchase new ones?

I have a 95 LS block that has 125k on the internals that I'm using for LS/Vtec build. I'm concerned with the rods use and age. The block is at the machine shop waiting it's turn to be worked so I don't KNOW what shape they're in. Please give me your opinions and experiences if you have any. If you can, let me know the best place to pick some new ones up. Thanks in advance...

You could try having the stock rods shotpeened or cryo-treated, but then again new rods are not very expensive

Do you know the best place to get them? I've searched and I'm not coming up with a answer. I had planned on getting them shot peened for the build originally. I wasn't sure if that was enough with the stress of 100k+ .

Thanks! Anyone else?

You are correct BBS...btw, markers worked out great! I had thought about that, but at the same time I wanted to run P30 pistons. I didn't want the expense of having to purchase new pistons...UNLESS you know of some pistons that aren't that expensive?

Thanks for the info, and thanks for the side markers! to a good seller!

I would say change rods also, but as they are not press fit you will also need after-market pistons.
