Default D16z6 and Nitrous?????

I just found out that the original owner of my civic had a shot of Nitrous on the D16z6. I stated before that the car feels slower than it should and I came to the conclusion that possibly the timing was retarded for the Nitrous. For those with a shot on your cars how much did you advance and/or retard your timing???

For standard 50 shot I do 2-3 degrees retarded
But depending on what application the previous owner had it could be more
Get a TIming light to make sure.

I am going to check to see if it has aftermarket cam gear...and if it is the stock one can the timing still be adjusted or are the aftermarket ones the only ones that can be adjusted???

Sorry if this is a dumb nOOb question Im just curious??

I would ask the prevous owner but he didnt do the swap it was the owner before him and he bought it way up north and sold it to me like 3 weeks after buying it

If he had nitrous then im pretty sure he retarded the ignition timing..
retared ignition timing helps from detonation..

I dont think he would mess with the cam timing ..
But to set cam timing...
Turn the motor to Top dead center
Take the plugs out so u can turn the motor easily..(no compression)
There is an arrow on the cam gear that should be pointing up at TDC..
