Default What is the Sub Frame?

I was reading up on my Helms and it says if suspension alignment is difficult, check for a bent Knuckel or Sub Frame.

Anyone know what that is?

it's the big black steel part that bolts to the body of the car, it goes from the left wheel well to the right wheel well and has suspension mounting points on it. There is one in the front and another in the back. You can't miss them
