Anyone know the weights of the different d-series transmissions? I'm specifically interested in 4-spd vs. 5-spd.

5spd = 63.3 lbs
4spd = 61.8 lbs +- 2lbs with the difference between spaces and gears.

If the tranny is overfilled it may weigh a little more give or take

 

not sure about the 4spds but my old Si 5spd weighed about 65 lbs when I shipped it

 

The difference is just two fifth gears and a fork which weigh about 2-3lbs??

 

Thanks guys. That's not much, huh? Here's another question... how light can a d-series trans be made (a cable one)??? Are there any lightening options worthwhile? The tranmission is open... we could run a fully custom non-honda one if we wanted to.

Everything internal is pretty much necessary. I would look elsewhere to save some weight if that is what you are looking for. Just my .02
