This is sorta a duplicate post:

Had my clear corners stolen, but no one has been able to tell me about the extra wires. There are the usual 3 that go to the harness/socket for the bulb that the thieves cut... but there are two more wires on the driver side that aren't on the passenger side. Anyone know what they are?

I didn't have fog lights, and I kinda don't think that is what it is...

So you think that there are two extra wires on my driver side, and not on my passenger side, could be because of extra fog light wiring? For some reason that doesn't seem right... anyone possibly check their wires and see if they have extra ones?

 

My '95 had foglight wiring from behind the dash over to somewhere under the steering-fluid reservoir. But it was taped up, not hanging. When I installed my factory foglights, it came with a short wiring harness that simply went across the front grille to both foglights...

I'm guessing they did something similar with newer cars.

 

why not just get the sockets for the other wires, wire them up and let the extra wires just chill there until you find out what it is (unless you're already doing that)

Yeah, I'm completely gonna order new turn signals and get it fixed up, I'm just concerned as to what these extra wires are.... anybody want to do me the favor of looking behind their 98+ driver side turn signal and see how many wires they have? Shouldn't take more than 5 mintues?

 

The windshield washer pump is somewhere down there nearby. Maybe when they stole your lamps they pulled those wires off?

 

as mentioned .. they're for your foglights. honda/acura prewires them for the factory fogs so when you get them, all you need to do is plug them in.

are you ordering from autozone? i'm sure they'll be A LOT cheaper if they have it

 

i just checked for you.. there are 5 wires coming out of the harness from each side.. 3 to the turn signal (larger bulb/socket) 2 to the corner light (smaller bulb/socket)

 

Yeah, but there are two more in the main line to the big bulb.... it could be fog lights. I noticed on the passenger side, there are two wires that shoot off in their own little wiring section that go to the front of the grill that looks like fog lights, but the driver side doesn't look the same.... but it could be them I guess.
