Timing belt for '83 accord... have a couple questions...
I have my accord and I think it is time to replace my timing belt. It has 149,000 miles on it and I havent had it tooo long and I have no earthly idea when it was replaced last. Is this something I can do myself? I know I will have to have a timing light and such but overall is it all that hard? The reason being is because the belt is less than $20 but the local major well known import place here wants $350. That inclused the timing belt, and water pump as well. (they said I might as well replace it while they are in there... no extra labor. From this point on... how often should I change the belt or have it changed? If its not a bright idea for me to do it then thats fine with me... just trying to save a few pennies. Thanks bunch. Zach
Get a haynes manual or a helms manual and it will show you exactly how to do it. I would say check http://www.3geez.com for help on that accord.
