I wonder if this means for '05-'06 NHRA Sport Compact will offer a sport bike class. Possible attendance boost? Any thoughts?

Isn't pro stock motorcycle class already dominated by Suzuki?

How about....
Too bad they can't boost attendance by opening the events to Sport Compact racers?

Theres gonna be a **** load of bikes... So cal bike rides are all welcome. so if you know someone with a bike that wants to win a wallly and have fun and meet other bike riders come to the NHRA race this weekend
It may boost attendance. But isn't there already a bike series in NHRA(i may be wrong). I"ll still be heading out to Pomona to watch cause of the cars and friends racing. The bikes would just add a little more to the event. And who knows....probably inspire some guys to get one...and race it next year etc..... I also didn't think the attendance has been too bad at Pomona. The place is huge. Even with all the smoke, ash and heat last year people came out. Now all this rain...well that may stop me. We all know how stupid us soCal drivers get when it rains...we lose brain cells.
Kinda reminds me of early BOTI...
exibition...ets...truck class..few bikes

Up here in Denver, guys used to re-tread their snowmobiles and run them-- those things were absolutly insane.
The only problem that I see with adding bikes to the NHRA series is the amount of time it would take up. When they ran the bikes at our old IDRC events, they would take up a 1/3 of the day because so many people out here own bikes.

yes there is, but its pro, they follow the poweraide series
i think they might be trying to go for a grassroots weekend racer type of thing?

If they do decide to add a street bike class, I would want to see it be a late model body style with efi being mandatory. This would get rid of old bikes, and the ProStockers. I am a huge fan of ProStock Bike, but don't want to see it in our racing, and don't want to see them have to leave the Powerade series. I'm thinking something along the lines of what ProStar has. Either a fastest streetbike class. Anything goes, street tire and no bar. Or maybe a Out Law Pro Street Class. Basically the same thing but can run a longer swing arm, and a slick. Other than that, anything goes... But would like to make sure it is an EFI class.. Tom J can chime in on this. Maybe he can get John from JE pistons to bring his Busa to the race and show them what fast is...
