Default SORRY FOR THE POST HERE BUT I NEED HELP!!

My buyer for my old 1997 civic hb, wrecked the car after I sold it and now abandoned it....

Ok guys I need your help here.
I havent been on this site for a while now, but this is where I meet my buyer for my 1997 Honda Civic that I had... On March 3,2004 I sold my 97 civic hb to a girl and her boyfriend from Seattle,Wa, They came down and saw my car and paid $4000 cash for it. I meet her on H-T, when I posted my car for sale. I have never sold cars prior to this, and she gave me the cash and I signed the title over to here and she signed and dated it. Now a couple of weeks ago I get some mail from a insurance company and a towing place in seattle, saying that my 1997 Honda Civic has been involved in a wreck, and I was like WHAT!!!. I FAILED to do a BIll of Sale and turn it in to the state of Washinton, like I said before I didnt think of that at all and didnt know I had to do something like that. I just saw the $4000 cash and was happy. Now Im getting a bill from the Towing place saying that the bill so far is $1500 for storing the car and its climbing everyday.. Somebody hit the car that I sold to the buyer, and I think its the other persons fault.. The girl that I sold it too also did not have insurance on the car when she was hit. The only thing that is there that shows she bought it is the TITLE in the car which is sitting in the junk yard and I live 4 hours away from Seattle. The insurance company and my self are trying to get a hold of her, but she does NOT return calls and avoids the mail that they send. I did a HONEST mistake that Im now trying to see what I can do, so she can be made liable. She basically abandoned the car and left the mess for me to clean up. I now need to know what I need to do to help my self in this situation. Im trying my hardest to get a hold of her but she is avoiding the sitiuation. Im trying to avoid going to court but I will if I have too and now as we speak the car is getting charged everyday while sitting in the junkyard. Her name is MAXINE BELANIO and I dont remeber her screen name on H-T, it may have been her boyfriend that was on H-T. She lives in Burien,Wa. If anybody has any info or knows this person, please let me know. I need ANY info as possible. I am in a bad spot now and need help.

Thanks H-T
Nathan

Again Sorry for the post, but this forum reaches alot more people....

Same thing happend to me in fl I just called DMV and told them I sold the car. When you went a registered a new car and changed the plate you would have had to drop your old car. So in their eyes you either took the car off the road or sold it, did you copy the title after they bought it? Did you let the DMV know who you sold it to? Did they ever title the car? Who has the title?

This issue here is that, she did not register the car in her name.
She came gave me the cash we I signed the title over to her and we both signed it and thats it.. The title that we both signed is in the car at the junkyard, that is the evidence that I have to show that I sold it to her. I just recently did a bill of sale officially today, not sure if that is going to help but i did anyways. My GF was with me too when we signed it.

in my opinion, if you get that title (with her name on it) and a bill of sale, there should be something that you can do.

Good luck in this sitution man.

its not your responsibility if she doesnt register it, that is all on her. If anything get the car back for free but they can leagly charge you with anything
