Hey guys I've read my Honda manual and I have a few questions about doing some other maintenance on my car.

What should I do to my car to help get more KM's per tank? I used to be able to get 450+ per full tank but now it seems that I'm getting much less.

What should I clean/replace to help it?

Do a tune-up.

Change:

Spark Plugs (NGK V-Power gapped to 1.1 mm)
Ignition Wires (OEM Honda/NGK)
Fuel Filter (OEM Honda)

Do a valve adjustment and adjust to OEM spec.

Run some Sea Foam.

I am planning on doing Sea Foam on my motor next oil change.
About the Fuel Filter tho...will those generic "Canadian Tire" brands be good also or do you recomend the factory oem replacement?

 

Well it never hurts to go OEM (for OEM-spec applications). But I would think any fuel filter will do. But, I don't know how soon they break down and how they filter.

He is from Canada, it's Kilometers not Miles. Roughly 270 Miles Per Tank.

Whatever you do stay away from Crappy Tire automotive parts, those parts are cheap as **** and will break or not do there job as oem parts do. Many years ago I bought a few things from there to avoid the cost of oem parts and days later, i mean days later they were broken and had to be replaced.

Spend the money once and get quality, its well worth it in the end!

dam that's a good amount of miles

 

I just picked up my EG, and made around 330 miles on a full tank bringing it down from NC.

 

Silly question, but whats the part # for the fuel filter?

My y8 gets horrrrible gas mileage too. I get around 260 to the tank, with mostly highway miles. And 220 in the city...on a "stock" honda.

350+, 94 civic ex.. but I do a _lot_ of freeway travel. I average about 33mpg from vegas to california and thats with an average speed of like 95.

 

odd cuz im still getting 250 miles to a full tank with new wires, dizzy and fuel filter...

It might not be your fuel filter. I changed out my fuel filter, ignition wires, spark plugs, timing belt and timing is up to spec. Now, I get 200-225 in city and 300 on highway. For a stock D15B7, that's CRAP. I'm leaning towards my O2 sensor taking a crap on me.
