Default building a poor mans type R - which piston to use p30 or ITR .25 over

wassup everyone,
im building a poor mans itr setup

the head is gonna be a b16 (pr3) head - i dont know what the internals are gonna be yet, most likely skunk2 or omni

and the block is a 95 b18c1

the block is getting all the misc work done to it (machining, bearings, seals, rehone...etc)

just wondering which pistons would be better to use - p30's or the ITR .25 over?

thanks

p30's have a little better compression ratio than the jdm itr's, but not as high as the 12:5:1 ctr pistons. P30's would be the better choice if your running a stageI or II cam, although good luck getting your hands on a set

Go to this site. I believe it was created by a h-t member. It has all the stock pistons, blocks, ect to figure out compression. You will want to know this info when choosing valvetrains!

http://technet.ff-squad.com/cr-calculator.htm

at stock bore and stock 3layer head gasket you will have 11:3:1 compression. Mill the head a little or run a two layer gasket and you'll be closer to 11:5:1. This would be perfect for some stageII cams. I'd recommend hondata or some kind of tuning platform with that compression though.

Either is fine, the CR won't be that much different .1-.2
