Default accord coupe from heaven?

alright about a year ago i was looking for a new car. I used to drive a mustang..well a 93 version. Then I bought a Mazda Mx-3 but my dad broke the axles about 2 years ago.

Here's my story

I have a 98 Honda Accord EX coupe thats what it says on my title, but it has a 2002 front end. I bought it from this viet body shop and he sold me it for 7 grand, But he wasnt 'done' fixing it, he was still driving it around like it was his. All his cars he sells a rebuilds from the junk yard,

I have drivin and ridden in other honda accords in my life, but mines got more torqe then some mustangs out there, but my high end blows and once it hits 5,100 rpm it stops moving, but from 1,200 it pulls hard with out vtec. I have raced some accord v6'ers before and i beat them hands down from the starting line and other 4 bangers aswell. only bad thing is when vtec hits my car pulls too hard and my tires slip..dont get me wrong i love it, but it tore up my tires withend a year.

so im thinking this car was wreacked badly cause the whole motor bay is re-welded together, and theres parts changed all over. Aswell my gear box(auto) is lose as anything else. So im wondering did this car had a torbo before or was highly tuned?

i got some questions for ya'll?

how is a 'normal' accord coupe supposed to drive?

only mods i got is 4 pin spark pulgs, and a stock sized k & n filter i bought last week.

P/S i only get about 12-15 mpg i think..but only 85 miles or less on a full tank

Its hard to explain what an Accord is supposed to drive like.

Go to a dealer and drive a similar one and then see if their the same.

Doesn't seem like you made the best purchase though after hearing about the car

done that.. the title shows rebult nothing else
i bought it cause it looked sweet..lol

but it doesnt say nothing about mods?

but i have been fixing alot of things on my own on this car.

headlamp blub fell out while driving and melted my washer box, then main relay went out, back lights would not turn on when i break, but i fixed that too...and the list goes on and on. Im lucky i know how to fix cars then i would been payed about 600 in labor by now.

now my timing blet is going and tranny..hahah dont get me started on that one

when i stop at a light or a stop sign, it would roll back like a manual and when press the gas it would jerk hard and slip.. got used to it

You need more LEDs, LEDs add a regulatory amount of resistance on your electrical system and it balances the engines sensor output to the ECU.

What is up with all these retarded posts?

You bought a rebuilt 98 accord from a junkyard for 7000, ha, I got a 2000 for sale if you want Ill sell it to you for 20,000, trust me its a great deal, its faster than a C5 man!

I hope your car falls on you the next time you "work" on it.

Maybe its your slipping transmission..
"when i stop at a light or a stop sign, it would roll back like a manual and when press the gas it would jerk hard and slip.. " &lt;-- That sounds like a slipping a transmission happening.. I've never heard or seen an auto accord rolling back at a stop light.. It could be that your transmission is really really bad.. And maybe the gears in the tranny is grinded so bad that its giving you shorter gears? Or it could be slipping in and out of the gears as you drive..

If you get another tranny .. it could increase your MPG..

The damage from the transmission must've happened during the accident your car was involved in..

I would have been going back to the place that did the wacked job of fixing it back and had them put it on a frame rack to do it right.

If it pulls one way out of HI tork, then that is body twist. God, I see a racing suport system going into that front end fast. That is about the only way you are going to have a safe ride from the looks of it.

And as for the trany, I would ask the yard if they replaced that. If they say no then I would see about them tossing you a deal for a replacement one.

And as for that jerk of a statement,

What mustangs are you talking about? One's with v6's? You aren't having more torque than a v8 buddy...that's dreaming.

is this a joke?

you purchased the car based on looks? You did'nt bother to think about mechanical\electrical condition? Viet body shop? YIKES! 7 Grand For The Car? Cripes man take that junker back and look for an accord with low mileage driven by an old lady and try to look for manual transmission. Then you will have a reliable car......

Sounds more like the accord coupe from hell...

more torque than a mustang lol!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe a 4 banger old skool like '89 Mustang! My go-cart is automatic, DOESN"T ROLL BACKWARDS AT A STOP, and was also built in a junkyard!!!

Yeah like thats going to happen, right after they laugh in his face, when you buy a car used that means its as is. Theres no going back to cry about it later.

I am what? This is not a support forum, it is a technical forum where intelligent people can come and learn from other intelligent people.

85 miles or less on a tank? On a Honda? Man, next time think twice about buying a car based solely on looks.

im not really worried about the gas mpg, i was kinda ticked about the gas mpg, but i wasnt thinking about keeping the f23 for long, just tempery until i can get a h23 manaul put in thats why i bought it for looks..lol

but i was thinking crazy the other night about modding the whole frame out to make it rw drivin. the money worrys me but the labor is done all by myself. or buy the new honda accord coupe

by the way my tranny is mist up i know that but my D4 light doesnt even light up anymore. im thinking of burned out light, but about the other post about the shorter gears... i think

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by abvboi &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Maybe its your slipping transmission..

haha you havent rode with me seeing is believing.... i get a kick out of my pasengers heads bopping and freaking out when i roll back at stop signs.

by the way it was a mustang V6 ..haha not a V8 i wish..haha

if i wanted to play with the big boys i would race with my dads 1983 monti carlo with a V8 fixed up giving him 390 hp

Boy, having the same torque as a V6 Mustang is something to brag about...those things are ***** to the wall slow...

I bet you beat your dad's monte....you should be beating a lot of things when you're getting worse gas mileage than a tank...

85 mile range on a tank would be cause for concern on any car. But it seems you've got bigger problems than that.

haha...so true

man who knows what the hell you got in your intake and EGR. If I had to guess its probably filled with dirt and metal from when it was originally wrecked to ****. Oh, just so you know, a Corvette Z06 gets around 20 mpg in town. Have a nice day !

i cal b.s. on the tires breaking lose.. unless you got cheap *** tires and high inflated and come loose while ur turning..

i cant even feel the vtec on my ex accord.. my last car was b20vtec hatch.. tires never break lose when vtec hits.. and the car had way more power torque than a accord.
