Vacuum leak is the most common, could be FIT valve. Anyone else?

i think its normal when the motor is cold
i guess its trying to bring the motor up to operating temp faster with a higher idle

 

i mean it revs up and down consistantly. in my moms crx it revs endlessly, even if its been running for 30 minutes and even when its already warm.

 

IACV (idle air control valve) or intake mani leak...or what he said^

 

a few things can cause it. on single cams there is a valve assembly at the bottom of the throttle body, in it there is a valve. unscrew the 2 screws on the flat plate and you will see a round piece of plastic with slots on each side, you can screw it in all the way if it is loose and it may solve the problem, also if not this, iacv on the back of the intake manifold, bad tps, or possible vacuum leak.

Like mentioned before, I think it could be a vacuum leak you have.

 

fast idle throttle valve...located under the throttle body

replace that then go from there
