Default Question: Right side Vs Left side for tire rotation?

Which side do mechanic's refer to when then say Right or left side of the car (written in chalk on winter/summer tires for example)?

I assumed right side was the driver side so I mounted the RF & RR tires on the driver's side. I hope this was the right logic!

Thank you!

Do you remember right hand drive and left hand drive? If you are sitting in the car to your left is left side and to your right is right side......not flaming just saying it the simple way.

No offense taken, this is exactly what I wanted to know. I should have thought of it that way.

Thanks
