removing factory deck
i have a 2001 se with a tape deck and it seems as if it would be able 2 come out very easily because there is a compartment underneath that seems loose, and when i moved it around, the deck was moving as well so i will try 2 just pull it out but if anyone knows exactly wut 2 do, or if there is more involved let me know. I am aware i need a mounting kit and a wiring harness.
You want to pull off the plastic center console surrounding the radio/pocket/HVAC controls. The clips can be pretty stiff if you've never taken it off - you'll probably need a stiff putty knife or wide screwdriver can help pry it off. Definitely make sure it's warmed up so the clips won't be quite as stiff, and there's less chance of you cracking any plastic.
After that's off you'll see the screws you need to take out in order to remove the radio.

correct^^^
pull off the plastic housing around the radio. get a long flat head screwdriver and get underneath your dash with a flash light, you'll be able to see a couple clips from behind the dash. use the flat head to push them out, then it'll be easier to pull off the face plate
