Default H22A (next step)

Well I just got my swap in and she is running great. VTEC rocks. Any way so I have currently only a few basic mods and am wanting opinions on my next upgrade (hop-up).

I have TIEN SS coilovers, AEM short ram intake, megan header and high flow cat, ERZ Extreme N1 Full stainless catback (2.5in) w/ magnaflow (2.5in IN dual 2.5in OUT) muffler, 17in Primax rims wrapped in Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 WR rated tires.

What should be my next purchase that will get me the biggest gain for my buck. I will be adding turbo (on stock internalls), (5-7psi) but not till spring. I want to keep adding performance over the winter as I save for the turbo setup.

Thanks everyone in advance.

Buy some parts or engine management for your turbo setup this spring.

why did you swap to a higher compression motor if you were planning to turbo it?

I was running the f22 SOHC with 180k that is why I swapped.

What type of fuel management do you all recomend?

Any other opinions on what I should do next?

Thanks all

start saving for a block build if you are going to boost.

If not, get some agressive cams and valvetrain. crazy cams + compression = fun

before saving for a block, get rid of your headlights and buy some jdm ones. Also get rid of the graphics

I am in the progress of trying to get a good deal on a pair of black JDM headlights and have been looking for a few weeks. I cant seem to find any for less than $150 and am waiting for a set to go for a bill then I will get them. I only have the dragon on the hood and no others. I kinda like it.

Thanks

now I know why you have so many posts .

Our cars are much alike; I would suggest making a serious decision.

If you really want to waste a lot of money into a car (knowing that you will only get joy, not money out of the car in return), the I would decide the most basic decision... FI or NA.
If you are serious and want to go with boost then build your block to sustain it and give at 'er. If thats too much simply strap ona turbo kit and run low boost expecting that you could blow your motor on anyting more than 8(more like 10-12), but eight daily.

Other wise go simple with some fuel adjustment/ other fuel componets, ecu (hondata), and build the head- EVERYthing... (port, cams, springs, valves, lifters...)

good luck to you

for bumping this post so many times with no tech related data...

I was only bumping to get more info from people. (check my other posts I do not always bump so much) I dont want to waste money, but I do want good advise. Thank you

I am sure I will boost (probably like 7psi) if I keep my stock internalls.

I still do not know what a head package is?

Also what is V2?

Sorry for all the questions I am fairly new too the honda world!

Thank you all

AEM V@ is an intake, I think it has a larger intake tube...
I thought the The vafc-2 is a piggy back device that plugs(splices) into the wiring directly off of your ecu. It is a vtec controller that gives you more options than that of stock (vtec x-over, fuel adjusstments, ...

A head package? What I was talking about is replacing the cams, springs, retainers, valves, and port mating the intake manifold to alow air to enter more effciently, and quicker.

Do LOTS of research before you make any decisions. Patience is the key to any succsful ventures in the honda world.

If you are serious about going turbo, go ahead and prepare the engine for it. New pistons, piston rings, head stud kit, and rods. With that you could safely run up to 14psi (similar to my setup).

I would recommend either a drag or rev hard turbo kit if you're not going custom.

Hondata all the way.

p.s. you should of went with 3" exhaust

You can also get the AEM V2 But with a v-afc and proper tuning you can get your car to unleash some hp from it with some decent boltons.

Which one is better, the V2 or VAFC? Also which one is more user friendly? I do have a laptop, but do either one use one for adjustments? Which ones do? Are any of the EMS's extremely difficult to learn how to use? Can a beginner (who is CPU knowledgeable, and fairly mechanically inclined) use these systems correctly? Can a person do severe damage when experimenting with these sytems?

Thank you

And which EMS is recomended for a person who has never had EMS before but wants the best for his car?

I actually use the H23's stock intake manifold on my setup because its bigger than the one on the h22.

Never knew it bolted up, never knew it was bigger either. What do you do about IAC and butterflies?
