I NEED HELP!
OK heres the problem, my power steering belt is splitting. this is the second time within the last month that i have split it. This time it did some weird things when it came off. i thought it was just my power steering that i lost, but then like a whole bunch of **** started to happen. my battery light came on and my lights dimmed a lot and couldn't power my windows. when i accelerated my car acted like it was going to stall, it jerked and popped. what the hell is going on with my car?
Not to step on anyone toes, The power steering belt is a seperate belt than the alt/ac belt. If the p/s belt split and took out the alt/ac belt that is the reason for the electrical problems. If the belt is too loose it will have a tendancy to "move over" on the p/s pulley meaning half on the pulley half off. This will also lead to splitting. Best bet is to consult a factory manual for proper tensioning.

Sorry for the misinformation.
Thanks guys, its day time now so i can look under my hood and see everything, my p/s belt totally demolished the altinator belt. but would that make my car almost stall and make loud noises and make my car jerk?

Sure. Your battery must be pretty old?
When your accessory belt went, all electronics instantly run soley on the battery, and it didn't have enough amps for your headlights, windows, and especially ignition. When an accessory belt goes, shut off all unnecessary electricals. A properly functioning and charged battery should be able to power a car's ignition for over an hour (that's with no headlights, wipers, stereo, anything).
