Default DA owners 4-1 header READ!!

What kinda of 4-1 headers w/2.5inch collector are you guys using for your DA with a stock LS motor, how much does it hang low, and did you have to notch your crossmember? If you can, can you take a picture of the bottom of your car so I can see how low it hangs. Thanks

You might look at G2IC.com, I always find all more G2 responses over there.

I can't tell you from experience, but I've read about 99.9% of G2'ers with the DC Sports 4-1 have to notch the crossmember... and that's not even a 2.5" collector. If you have the Full-Race or the Z10 crossmember then you won't have a problem with anything. I can't speak for other headers...

i have a stock jdm itr 4-1 header on my da
and yes you will have to notch the crossmember with any 4-1 header 2.5 inch or not
also the jdm itr 4-1 header will not clear the ls/b16 oil pan and a jdm itr 4-1 header is only compatiable with a p72 gsr/itr oil pan

First of all, a 2.5" 4-1 header is overkill for a stock ls. With that out of the way:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by UNKNOWN_MEMBER &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Yea I was checking g2ic.com out but no one provided pictures and their search sucks. G2IC's search usually provides MUCH better results than HT's, just because HT has Soooooooooooooo many threads on soooooooooooo many repetitive topics.

But to answer ur original question: On 90-91s, you're gonna have to notch your crossmember, on 92-93's it'll fit just fine, well it'll be cozy, but it'll fit. Most of the people that install a 4-1 notch it anyway just so there's a bit more play and they don't have to worry about crossmember/header collision.

and regarding this statement:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by riceball777 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">also the jdm itr 4-1 header will not clear the ls/b16 oil pan and a jdm itr 4-1 header is only compatiable with a p72 gsr/itr oil pan </TD></TR></TABLE>

I'm pretty sure you're wrong here...someone else wanna jump in?

That's me. The oil pan had to be slightly persuaded with a hammer as well (very slightly).

Ground clearance is actually very good, considering. I'll do my best to get some pictures.

Any 90-93 xmember will have to be notched. From my understanding there is no difference.

My JDM ITR 4-1 wouldn't clear my LS oil pan. It was close, but it wouldn't clear.

The 92-93 tegs come stock with a 4-1 header, some aftermarket 4-1s will fit without having to be notched

Perhaps you're thinking of the GSR...? I'm pretty sure even the 92-93 GSR didn't have a 4-1 from the factory.

Daym dude, i have a feeling if i get a jdm 4-1 header, 95% percent of the time it'll be on the floor. Here are some pictures, tell me if u think i'll make it and tell me if u dont think i can . My 4-2-1 dc header is basicly 2inches off the floor.

Pic 1 (ciggarrete box under it)

Pic 2 (mothers polish beside it)

Pic 3 (size of mothers polish)

Its alright for DD, speedbumps it usually clears, the header (i have a lower spot farther down where the cat bolts up) Its bottomed before, but i have no dents yet. Im more worried about the oil pan which is still good. I might invest in making a skid plate that sits on the header and is bolted to the crossmember.

Over huge bumps the pushing the header back pulls foward on the exhaust manifold studs, cant be too healty. Atleast with some sort of skidplate it will drift over it easier.

Do you think i'll be having problems with an itr 4-1 header? Will a dc 4-1 jdm header have better clearance?
