I have 91 accord dx auto.
Recently my tranny starts acting up. The "S" light would light up out of the blue and when it came on, the gear stucked at 2nd. It won't shift when in D4 or D3. It will go to 1st if the lever set to 1. The car shifts just fine if the "S" light is off.
There is a little pattern.. if I didn't drive this car for more than 24 hours.. the next time I start the car, this thing will act up. But if I keep driving the car for an hour or so, the problem would eventually be gone by itself and will never come up again until I let the car sit for another 24hrs. But sometimes it didn't follow the pattern.
No code is thrown. Also tried to reset the computer, but it didn't do any good.
A shop told me it might be the solenoid. Any input from you guys will be very appreciated. Thanks
