Vtec cam shaft into a non vtec head?

i was wondering if your able to put a vtec shaft into a non-vtec head and recieve power? someone told me it was true and i just want to know the truth. For say a d16y8 shaft into a d16y7 head.

No... there's no place for the vtec lobes to go, and nothing to lock them in place anyway.

Man if that person was your homie, I'd go back and clock him in the head, lol jk. Other y8 parts are interchangeable with the y7 though, like tranny, IM, and exhaust mani. Swap those into your car and you'll notice a pretty big difference.
