Default ITBs on a sohc?...yeah another itb question

alright...i did searching and alot of stuff came up but alot of my questions didnt really get answered. i know that ITBs mostly benefit towards 8000 rpms and the sohc doesnt even rev that high, but if you do different size/length runners and throttle body diameters couldnt you bring the powerband down a little? i dunno maybe this is stupid but. and also has anyone done an ITB single cam??all the threads showed everyones DIYs but they dont tell how it worked and performed.

runner length and size of the opening at the butterfly will greatly impact what rpm range the itbs will work best in. It would probably be best to use a 38-40mm setup on the d-series. Do a search a number of folks in this forum have dones the d-series itbs.

a little bit off-topic, but, i jsut want to dispell the myth that ITB's are a high rpm peak hp type mod that are finiky...

bmw e30 m3's use itb's stock on their 2.3's and make 200 hp and 160 tq...and it comes early...its all about matching the cam profile, head, itb setup and tune to get what you need out of the motor...i like the idea of itb on sohc since the low-end is already so juicy....

1:11? Thats gonna suck

I've got a set of 600rr and 929rr ITBs waiting for attention, but got a lot of other projects to knock out before I can really do anything with them.

yes i also have to put togther the rest of my stuff.

big port and polish, and 11.8:1, and a nice size cam should make em scream.

goal number for my setup is 155 on the mustang dyno.
