A friend of mine who owns an Eclipse GS-T told me a local DSM dealer in his area stopped selling APEXi parts because supposedly they are of poorer quality than HKS, TRUST, Tanabe, etc. I'm wondering if this is really the case. We'll compare exhausts as an example. Do you feel APEXi cat backs are better/worse than other companies'? Personally I like 5Zigen and Tanabe exhausts a lot. It just happens that I got a good deal on an N1.

 

They are pretty much all the same. If you can get a good deal on it....GET IT BRO!

Most of the Japanese companies will offer exceptional build quality. I've had my 5Zigen on for more than a year with no problems. I love it!

 

One thing I know for sure is the welds on the A'pexi mufflers where the hangers join is usually of dull quality. Cheers!

 

Hey S4-MTM.. how do you like your K04s? How long have you had them? I have a 01 S4 with a stage3 (around 350HP)... and was thinking about K04s...

 

Heh - don't be bustin' on APEX'i. I've had my Dunk cat-back for 4 months now and nothin' but for the whole time. It sounds great, looks hella sweet and didn't bust my bank account (try modacar.com or optauto.com - both had the dunk for $300). I'd recommend it all the way. K04's are awesome. I have the ABT K04 turbos. With RS4 downpipes and other goodies.

I've had my Tanabe Exhaust for 3yrs this coming january.. nothing but good things..now if u want to know what bad quality is.. get a sebring it starts throwing chunks of the muffler deadner after a few months
