i went obd1 coversion from my 99gsr also... needless to say... i sold it cuz i wasn't progressing in my mods, so there's no need to chip it unless you're done modding (that's my way of thinking)

DO NOT buy a "chip" off ebay. once you get some mods that require tuning, im, cams, etc etc... pick up uberdata/hondata/(insert other "tuning device here') and get it tuned for your specific settup. those "chips" mess up your air/fuel mixtures, rev limiter, and a few other things, and no matter what they say, it is not safe, and your only looking at like a 5whp gain anyways. if it seems "too good to be true".... i got news for you, it is.... words to live by when buying parts.

SAVE your money..........i tell this to people with stock set ups all the time.... a chipped ecu isnt beneficial until you have some mods to back it up, ie. cams, pistons (high compression), i/h/e, head work, etc. Even then, having it properly tuned or having a program that is made for your set up is ideal. Once you have some money put into your motor, look into hondata if you want you car properly tuned

It's better to get some mods first and then have the chip tuned using Hondata or something similar. Having a stock motor and an "ebay" chip will give you horrible gas mileage.

gas mileage should be the worst of his worries... he should worry more about his motor
