Default No Heat (winters gonna suck)

Hey guys, I usually don't post much but I have searched over this.

I have come up with that it was my t-stat that caused my car to not work. I have switched it and still, the heat doesn't work in my car. Could it be either my a/c condencer or something else like cooling fluid. my 92 honda prelude SI heat does not work at all, it doesn't even blow out cold air, just outside air. I need heat for the winter and my setting thing doesn't go all the way to the heat side, is their a fix, or is this a normal problem for our cars?

I appreciate any help that you can give me on this matter.

Thanks!

Have a look under your dash and make sure your temp setting cable is connected. (It's kinda like a bicycle derailer if you know what that looks like).

same thing happened to me also but it was my 90 crx si. I never figured what was the problem. I had the same situation as yours that the blower doesnt even blow but only from outside blowing in only. Let me know as soon you find out whats wrong?

Hey hope i can help same thing happened to me on my 92 si. The control cable for the heater and a/c is broke if u go inside the engine bay and follow the heater hoses there should be one with a little lever on it just push or pull the lever to open the heat check to make sure with the car on cause one way will close it the other will open it. its a little easier than fixing the cable and a quick fix to get u through winter

the little heater thing he is talking about is the valve for the heater core....with it closed no coolant flows through, therefore there is no heat to heat the air......go under there where he said....it might be easier to go from underneath...its right in the middle of the engine bay, up against the firewall...find the little rod on top, it rotates in a semicircle to open and close, move it around...if it gets stuck when your moving then you need a new one, if it moves the whole way, check to make sure the cable is looped over it the whole way, it should be looped around the rod at the bottom....to get a new one check your local junkyard, it will be easy to get at b/c they probably have the motor out...oh and most any honda/acura one should work, some are electronic though, just check it before you buy to make sure its like yours....

as far as the too hot problem....thats rly not a problem at all, thats good.....if your temp guage is at normal (2 big bars, right in middle) then your enigne and heat system are fine, you just blow hot air a lot...hehe....but really, to cool it off, just move the temp slider a bit to the cool side, this will close the valve some therefore less heat will be produced by the reduced amount of coolant flowing through the core
