Default Ls/Vtec with an RsR ExMag Exhaust Questions!!

I have a fully built Ls/Vtec, consists of 12.5:1 compression, skunk2 stage 2 cams, AN-R header, and a few other goodies, check the sig for more info . Right now i was planning on running my apexi N-1, turbo aspirated muffler, it is huge, and was loud with my SOHC.

So I was looking into running an RsR ExMag exhaust, for the sound. Just seeing what you guys think?? Will it really hurt my #'s being it is not an opened exhaust?? Should I just suck it up and except that my Honda will be annoying loud, being that I have done so much to this motor??

Since my car has been down, I have been driving a VW Rabbit, with some work done to it, and i love the sound, real quiet!! I havent driven my Honda in over a year, so I am used to driving a car that is not as loud as my N-1 was. Pls post your comments

i think the RS*R could restrict your set up but it will keep the tone down to aht u like.
ever think about getting a custom exhaust by K-TELLER?
he has some 2.25 to 2.5 piping that is mandrel bent for a good price in the low $200's

BTW........waht year and what u got done to the rabbit?
i was such a hard core VW head back in the mid to late 90's and my first car ever was the rabbit
one of my favorite swaps i did with on of the rabbit's i owned was in a 77' (euro spec w/round lights) rockin a 1.8L bored to 2.0L with a stock 8V head w/shrick 272 cam, techtonics cam gear, techtonics dual non-cat down pipe into techtonics 2.25 exhaust system and
maaaaaaaaaaaaan back then that **** was quick!
i would rip on alot of cars on the streets (honda's w/hybrids were rare back then)
and best pass i pulled was 14.4 on 14' nitto drag radials.
if i go that thing a good ported head 13's all day.
my car was gutted with cabrio body kit w/gutted re-bars
car was 1862-lbs w/o me in it

sorry guys got kinda carried away
hhahaha
it's just that the rabbit was fun!

welll anyways.................RS*R good if ya dont want the cops on ya

I put an invidia stainless system on my itr. It sounds nice and deep, not raspy like my friends Si with an Apex N1. It was only like 400.00 bucks or so, so very affordable and good quality.

I have a very mild LS/VTEC with the RS*R exmag. I like it a lot. I don't think it'll hurt you unless you're making like 200 whp. Sounds awesome and keeps cops away

Its an '84 rabbit with stock 8v motor, has an aftermarket cam, intake and exhaust. it is not fast, but it is torquey, can pull alot of cars of the line. This car can handle though, All the front and rear strut and sway bars, bushings, and aftermarket struts. This thing handles like it is on rails, when i take people for a ride, they say it is like riding on a roller coaster.

But I want to drop a 16v G60 motor, in it with a Mercedes Kompressor supercharger. That will make the Rabbit pretty quick , and keep my Honda in my garage.

I plan on making 200whp or more, so it will hurt me considerably in the Hp!!

Yeah, go with a straight through design. I'd say go with kteller custome exhaust.

i'd say just go ahead and keep your n1. I'm running the ex mag right now in my eg and with the rear section off, you can really notice how much better the system flows. And because of this, i'm constently debating whether i wanna give up my ex mag and go with something that'll flow better.

I'd say the ex mag will probably be holding back some power if you do install it, that's why i think for your setup, since its gonna be putting down some good numbers, go with the straight through design.

The RSR Exmag really hurts a big motor like that. Im using an rsr exmag on my 12.5:1 2.0L but im also using a 3" qtec..

Ahhhhhhhh yes the 16v G60 set up
even a regular G60 swap is fun especially if u swap out the 1.8 block fora mk-3 2.0L 8v "tall block"!
man al this talk makes me want a rabbit again for a street beater.
hahahahaha
also vw is known for TQ and i remember back in the days i would destroy GSR integra's stop light to stop light

well those were the days
now with ls/crv VTEC hybrids out it's just no match when it's built all motor vs all motor 8v or 16v.
but if ya do go with that 16v g60 set up i know it will be loads of fun cause it makes a **** load of TQ.

In search of an exhaust, I stubbled upon this post and just saw the pic of your motor . . . . drool, drool, drool.

On a side note: I was also looking into a new header. Does your AN-R header allow for AC & PS? Sorry off topic
