dimension of c&r crx radiator
hey what's up, im having some radiator/downpipe fitment issues and think im going to need a smaller radiator. does anyone know what the dimensions are for C&R's smallest radiator for the crx? thanks...
call c&r they dont recomend anything much smaller than that of a 92-95 style rad for a street driven, gas, 4cyl. even on a drag only setup they wouldnt even recomend the shifter cart radiator.
dont skimp out on the cooling system for a street driven car. you are askin for problems.

Dturbo is right, finding a smaller radiator isn't your fix, you need to find a way to fit a bigger one. You'll have cooling problems if you go too small.
I don't know your setup so I don't know if your wastegate will be in the way, but you can use A scirocco radiator and put it under the piece that bolts acrossed for the hood latch and the bottom will rest on the lower core support and it will sit flush in between the core support..... you will also need one without the filler neck on the rad. and you can just get A Moroso inline for the upper hose or just weld one to the coolant neck on the head.
I would highly suggest running the largest radiator possible if this is going to be your DD and heat wrapping/ thermal coating your exh. manifold. Here in ID its already peaking right around 100 degrees and my car is HOT. I cant drive on the freeway for more then 15-20 min cause I have no flow to my radiator (IC is in the way) and thats with a 1400cfm fan pushing from the time I start the car. Ive talked extensively with a plumber of 20+ years about runing a copper or aluminum radiator. All I can find on the internet is how alumin. is better but never any explicit reason why. He has told me time and time again the copper has better heat transfer then aluminum does and I think hes right. I had to replace my copper EG rad (long story ended up breaking cause Im an idiot) with a aluminum one and it does not cool as well as the copper unit did. Although the copper unit WAS dual core but I was just runing the stock fan on it. I dunno if that will help you any, good luck man.
