Putting a 99-00 SI grill on my 00 Civic EX
1. Possible?
2. I work at a Honda Dealership so I get a discount off the parts themselves. Question is, which parts do I need?
For aesthetic reasons, I do not want the emblem but the parts manager said that there is a front and a back to this assembly. Does my car already have the back part? Sorry I can't give any more details because that is all I know. I hope that is enough information to help me out for someone who has done this before.

you need both parts: outer and inner shell. the emblem is a separate part from those and not necessary. they come painted in factory colors, so you'll need to repaint if your EX isn't an Si color.
any more questions?

just buy the one from jdmshit.com and paint it, it will be the cheaper way to do it, and it looks identical.

Barabus - Thanks for your definitive reply.
If you don't mind me asking devil's advocate stylee, how are you so sure that the back part from my existing car is good to go? I believe you, I was just wondering what experience you were basing that on.
My car is black so I won't have to repaint the OEM piece, right?

JDMshit? Nice name.
I figured that paying $95 or so for OEM fit was worth it. People agree or no?

does the oem piece come painted ? you cant use any piece from the old grill so make sure that you order both pieces of the Si grill .

Thanks. That's two people who say I need to order the "front" and "back" (for lack of better words) piece of the SI grill.
I was told by the parts manager that the piece does indeed come painted.

my only experience is from looking at pictures and the Honda parts diagrams, and talking to people here on HT.
To clarify, what I said was: no piece of your current grill will work, buy both pieces from honda. If you can get them both for $95 that's f-ing awesome!
as long as the black on your EX is the same as the Si black (I'm pretty sure it is, Flamenco Black Pearl?) than you should be good to go on the color.
FWIW, I have a JDMsh!t grill, and the fitment is so-so. also harder to paint correctly (keep grill part black) than the two-piece OEM part. Now that my car is wrecked, I'm going to cut it up to make a prototype Si-style grille with the sedan chrome trim.

i just put my ctr(same as si) grill on my car 2 days ago , you need the inner mesh part of the grill and the painted part(seperate)......you need BOTH those pieces you can not reuse any part of your current grill for the si.

you can just buy the RS emblem...... RS stands for road sailing , it comes on the jdm four doors. it mounts to an si grill they are the same .
