To find out lots of useful information with relation to the ITR and it's Technical Specifications.
And YES I'm sure there are a bunch of people who have Just installed an Axleback. The main reason that someone would replace the catback piping is to resolve the B pipe bottleneck when the piping actually closes and restricts the flow and velocity of exhaust gasses. The installation of a true 2 1/2 catback mandrel bent piping mated to a Good High Flow Cat and free flowing Muffler will release even more usuable HP and TQ from the otherwise stock R. Combine this Good Catback and HF cat with a well designed Header and you have unleashed even MORE power than you thought the R had.
An Axleback may only yield 2-3 total HP gain and thus is usually done for the sound and not for pure performance.
Good luck,
A.

axle back is usually the ricer mod, it does free up a few horse power but is much cheaper and get the load exhaust sound that they believe they have add 20+ horse's
nice Pic by the way lol did the same pic 2 weekends ago but with the A filling up almost the whole picture looks sweet as hell with a little glint in the corner of sunlight
Hope this link works, if so read the whole thing and learn ALOT more about your and any aftermarket catback exhaust system.

Thanks for the replies. The reason I am asking is that I am thinking of buying an exhaust from some one and the piping is 2 1/4 . I thought the type r all ready had 2 1/4 inch piping from the cat back. If this were true I was going to buy the axle back portion. Thanks
factory is 2 1/4 with 1 or 2 resonators. If you feel spending $600 on the same exhaust will help you then by all means. Im sure those resonators are holding you back
Just get a universal muffler and have someone weld it on. The stock muffler is what needs to go not the exhaust. I have no regrets with my focuz muffler.

rice
. Actually the muffler is the only thing different in some exhaust systems. Like mugen, its a 2.25, like stock diameter but, the muffler is more effecient and does increase horsepower. No exhaust is going to do more than free up a few horsepower without other mods. However a lot of the rice exhausts are Muffler only these ARE useless, I think these are what Wildohiorice was refering to.

Tanabe, 5Zigen, Mugen, RSR, Apexi, these are all cat back exhausts and are by no means "The same exhaust".
Thanks for the replies. I am either getting DC or Comptech. Maybe racing medalion. I also like the look of the Greddy evo, but I have heard they are too loud.
