Just got back from a day at Talladega Gran Prix. Some friends rented the track for the day and invited me to come along. 5 cars total, open track, rain, lots of fun.

We ran it in both directions and I must say that counter clockwise, reverse of how we ran it at the H-T.com event earlier this year, is much more fluid. Scott/Trey if we do an event next year, let's run it counter clockwise?!

I ran the R4 that was on the car since I didn't feel like messing around with pad and rotor swaps in the rain. Welp .. I ran the front right all the way to the backing plates. Look in the tool box .. only 2 sets of Blues. Doh! The leftover OEs were at home. So I had to limp home with the E-Brake and the backing plate grinding on the slotted rotor.

 

Whoa, they are still lettings cars on TGP? I thought they weren't going to allow cars anymore because they were tearing up the track, or is just 'big' cars not allowed?

 

Seriously Zsolt, you should have called me. I would have been more than happy to meet you out there or somewhere in between.
I have limped home from there on bad brakes too, though And more than once.
