Default Backdraws/negative things about purchasing used JDM front end..?

I just want to know if there are any negative things about purchasing a used front end. I would save around $1000, but is that worth it? How much more would it approximately cost to make it look like it was brand new? any info appreciated. thanks.

could be stolen. rad support generally are not reusable because you have to air chisel it off the frame. take inventory to make sure all the parts are there or else u could find out in the middle of assembling your car back together you're missing something important

the down side...hmm..i guess it might cost extra $$ to fix any imperfections on the kit. But, i doubt it'll surpass the cost of new kit plus installation as opposed to used kit and installation. Regular install runs around 1500$, plus 3000 (w/o lip) or $3300 (w/ lip) for new kit. $4500 or $4800. On the other hand, used kit such as the one G_Chan is selling for $2400 (w/ lip), plus about $1600 for install. $4000.

Actually, a used radiator support works just as well. extra work for the body shop is the only downside i can think of..

Increased preparation work and searching for all pieces other than sheetmetal, support, bumper, grille and lights. Besides, it still needs to be shipped and new stuff comes in boxes. If you buy a kit from a reputable source who has done one before, you'll get all the hardware and miscelleanous parts.

I took a poll a while ago. out of 20, 80% bought a new one.
