hi guys, I have a simple yet technical question that HAS been covered many times, And i have found using the search feature it comes up with a variance in results for myself. So i am here to post and get some information for my specific setup. What i have is a sohc zc stock internals. My valves are noisy, so first i got out my haynes manual and it showed .007-.009 for intake, .009-.011exhaust. Well i opened up the valve cover and they were pretty damn on spec. SO i came to the search feature of H-T for more answers.. Well i got pretty much the same info that was in the haynes (like i thought i would) But there were a few guys running a different setup. like (MistaBone) was running as tight as .004Intake/.005Exhaust. (so me being pissed off about my damn valve noise issues) i went outside and tuned them to those specs. Turned on the car and it sounded great. no ticking. But if i noticed once i left go of the pedal the car wouldn't idle, it would just shut off. So i messed around with the idle adjustment to see if that would help at all. And no better results with the idle. So i then tuned the specs back to factory default, and they are noisy. I guess myquestion is. What are your guys valve lash specs. And what would you guys tune yours too if you were in my position? Or even, what would you guys do? i am just kind of mad for the fact its a fairly new single cam zc engine. I am aware that the injectors on the jdm sohc zc are known to be loud. But this is not the injectors. Any help whatsoever, or even some type of suggestions on what i should tune them to would be great. And like i said before, i went over the search feature for about 3 hours last night. And couldnt come up with a solid answer. Thanks in advance
