Default D or B Series for Turbo Buildup?

For a turbo buildup, what is a better platform to start with? A D Series VTEC (D16) or a B Series Non VTEC (B18B)? It will be daily driven, and between 300-350 hp.

well to be honest its a toss up. there are guys making big power with b series turbo and now you got big power d series plus if motor fails you can pick up a D series motor for very cheap even though the b18b can be purchased for cheap to its up to you good luck either way

The b series is a bigger, tougher (argueable) motor. Also more expensive. If I had the money I'd personally go with the b18b. As far as most hp / fastest car per dollar, you might be better off with a built up d series. Good luck.

I hope this doesnt turn into a d-series vs. b-series arguement..
both motors have their pros and cons..

But for daily driven 350hp I would get a B-series..
