Ok heres the deal. I have a 88 HB std. It will start but say if I go into teh store or get gas and go to start it again it will turn over but will not fire. If I wait 5 minutes of so and crank it then it will start. Is it the main relay? Fuel pump? Could the cap and rotor be bad?(but why will it fire up again)

 

i had same problem think is the dizzy. I just did an engine swap and now it doesnt do it anymore . Atleast i gave you a free bump if not a postive answer.

word thanks for the bump...im gonna try the relay 1st and open up the distributor next if the problem still occurs

 

its the relay.... just re solder it first b4 having to go out and get a new one
