once you figure out which axles and exact length your gonna need you won't regret doing the h22a swap.

It is only 80lbs heavier. Get it done correctly...and u won't run into axle problems. I've been researching this alot since I'm getting a h22 swap....and people who have h22s in their civics say the handling is NOT as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

Um do a search dude. THeres quiet a bit of info on this. I should know, im interested in doing this swap in my 96 4dr civic. So far i know that HPC or Place has a motor mount kit...but Hasport is working on one and they told me they should have one before the end of Jan. People say the following: 1. Its too heavy
2. It sits too low 3. No good handling (due to heavy nose) But it comes with 195 give or take 10hp depending on whick one you get and the most FUN reason is the 160ft-lbs of torque that puppy pack which will leave any stock to stock GSR o B16 to smell your exhaust fumes. OHHH!! but the best part about it is that it cost bout the same as a B16!!! Man thats hilarious. Makes more power than type-r but cost bout half. Anyways About the A/C the guy that owns hasport told me that hopefully since there is more room in the ek he hopes will still be able to retain it which is good cuz a grumpy wife is a messed up life. Also too about the handling im hoping that since my 4dr is longer it should be a lil heavier in @ss to better improve handling (or at least the wieght dist) than say an eg also too i plan on getting a killer susp. So just wait and see at least until Has. comes out with there kit . OhhH he also told me that SportCompactCar Mag is comming out with a full story on it. THe car theyre putting it on looked like a 97 ek 2dr. Well hope this was informative. latz

Well it is all up to what you want in your car. The B18c is good, and the H22 bigger both good motors. I have my friend installing an H22 into an HX Civic and he is maintaining his A/C, but it is close as hell to the radiator. So basically it's what you want, now me I would go w/the H22. Nobody would ever think you had an H22 in your Civic so suprise them w/it. By the way this is my friend's shop who is doing the swap right now. http://www.intercrewautosalon.com

like everyone says, the diff in weight isnt really too much of a concern. i figure if i get a cf hood, ill save around 25 lbs off the front there. then if i move the battery to the trunk (aprox. 25 lbs), that not only removes weight from the front, but addes it to the rear = 50 lbs diff. there you have made up 75 lbs of that 80. not too bad huh?

handling isn't the problem. i have a h22 in my 94 civic ex and i put koni adj. and ground control coil overs, i think the spring rate are something like 350-390lbs front, and 300-350lbs in the rear. the car also had poly bushing all the way around, and S/T swaybars, car went great, around turns in the staright aways, you name it, she hauls ***.
get a good shop to put it in, or do your homework before you start. i looked into this for about a year before i started my swap, and still didn't have everything i needed to know. good luck
BTW i like hasport better than the place raceing junk, bad customer service there
