Has Anyone seen or heard about this?
My Buddy wants to buy this for his GSR. I have never heard or seen anything like this. http://2003bg.primediaautomoti...age=P
If anyone has heard about this would they care to shed some light on this for me. Also what kind of a price tag do you think it will have?

Aww its only around $10,000 last time I checked, save the money and build something nicer. Did you really need to make two threads about this ?

Check out Dropspeed in the ITR forum. He couldn't get it running so he's selling it for like $2300. I'm pretty sure it's the same motor.

i sure would like to see some of you build a motor with 220hp out the box with high quality parts for under $10,000. that build has so much potential and has a warranty...12 month or 12 thousand mile warranty... how many builders back there build with a warranty and can guarantee the motor will make 220 hp out of the box. i'd like to see a junkn yard selling a used block that you plan on building give it a warranty and say ohh yeah it'll make around 220 hp with these parts for sure...NO WAY.
super-strong G-Sport Pro block from Dart Machinery, G-Sport Pro rods from Oliver Racing, G-Sport Pro pistons from WISECO, G-Sport Pro spec crank, G-Sport spec cams, and a host of Mr. Gasket gaskets. do you know what it takes and cost to build a dart motor or to pay someone to do it....do the math.
nobody can make a motor like that with those parts with that warranty and the garantee that it will make that amount of power out of the box PERIOD. Its worth it...
that motor is worth every penny hands down.

Are you there spokesperson, sure sounds like it ? I can take 10,000 and make a reliable block with more horsepower then that has. So what it comes with a 12 month warranty, what are the guidelines to follow though ? I would offer a warranty to a customer if I charged them 10,000 for something, because I know there serious about the engine and I know there not some dam kid that's gonna blow the engine up the first month they get the engine.

not a spokes person at all. just know a good deal when i see one.
So why not someone take a $10,000 budget and piece together the same parts that Beast is using to make their create motor and make more than 220 hp out of it. Not very many people are out there making 220hp out the box on any build build using junk yard parts. come on... if you can make that much power and offer a warranty do it.... prove me wrong.
everyone says ohhh i can amke more power for less money, but nobody is. everyone is spending spending spending and not making that kinda power out the box with those parts on that budget. I stand and say its a good deal and there is alot of room for imporvment on that motor. its a great starting point to work with because in the long run you break it they fix it.
*edit* don't forget to factor in Labor and Machine costs.

Yeah you have some very good points manson. My buddy is going to be at SEMA and if they have a booth which im thinking they will, he is going to talk to them more in depth about it.

i bet not.... how many people on this board are actually hitting over 250 and haven't spent over 10,000 doing it... i would say none. when you factor in all the machine work, fab work, labor, parts, time its well over $10,000. ask some of the people that actually have almost hit the 250 mark ALL motor and how much money they have spent...most will probably not even calculate it because it is so much money.

There are A LOT of costs of building a motor that you don't think of. When you add up all of the nickels and dimes, the price tag gets pretty hefty.
Ask Tbone. He built a Dart block motor and is WELL over the 10 grand mark, even before the ITB's.

I really don't think people are looking at all the little cost that are going to add up. For ***** and giggles how about someone peices together and prices a motor together that will make 220+whp for under $10,000. I curious as to what some of you guys will come up with. Try to take into accountablity of machining, hot tanking, tunning, ect.....

Lets see...
WRONG Dropspeeds is a motor that was built at payne tech.. not a beast.. Dropspeed however did test the beast and he's where they got the 220 whp mark and that was with a dc header.

and not your joe blow machine 75.00 bore and hone.. real machine work including line hone..Oh yeah alll you net builders need to start with 100% new oem block and head with your builds to keep it fair, because the beast did.....GAME OVER..
I'm so tired of people who have never built a motor comment on how easy it is to make xx amount of power....
Yes it is easier to make the 220 mark since the Beasts debut, but how many of your motors will last..
I'm 250+ dyno pulls strong and severl trak days and 8k miles with my dart because it was built right, and the Beast uses better parts than what are in mine...oliver rods geeze$$$
Testy testy aren't we, I never stated I built an engine with 220 hp but I'm saying it can be done for under 10,000 , have I seen it done, yes. Lets not start adding little things like we need to use brand new heads, if that is the case do we need to use the same exact parts as The Beast, do we need to stick with the b series ? There is a difference in buying every part that The Beast uses and buying everything you want to use to get to 220hp. I'm sure if you price together everything on The Beast that the total will get up there, I don't doubt that. I'm just saying an engine can be pieced together for cheaper and make the same amount of power and be just as reliable. That's just my opinion though.

you guys are idiots.....sure you can build a motor that will achieve that whp for less.....but this is an OUT OF THE BOX RACE MOTOR!!!!!!!! plus it has all the highest quality parts . this is a steal if you ask me.

So you personally never built a 220hp motor out the box.... you've seen one, but have you seen the price tag? Ohhh lets not forget it was probably not built with a new bottom end and new head and all new new NEW NEW parts. price together a project via the internet using all new parts and see what it gets you.... a HUGE price tag... My point stands.

the price has dropped and it is worh it
sure you can sleve a block but you run the risk of the sleves droping or not being installed properly
if you were to add up piece by piece of all the parts in the beast motor you will not even come close to the price they are asking
as for droopspeed his motor (short block) is not the beast motor it is a tall deck dart block him and tom payn from payntechnologies were involved in developing the motor the one he is selling is a personal project of his
if i had the money i would invest it in the beast motor comes out cheaper in the end
just my .02

my point is , your not going to make that horsepower on a stock header and exhaust.....imagine if you change the intake manifold , nice header and exhaust.....plus a warrenty . you dont even need the damn warrenty because that motors never going to break.
id love to see you guys build a motor that does what this motor does and see how much you end up spending.
