He's wrong... there are none left on the road. Every ITR that you see on the road are fakes with B18B engines w/ 5 lug hubcabs. So, thieves should just jack RSX typeS's now.

I'd guess 15% are gone due to wrecks or theft.

 

I would guess closer to 30%

 

You could check autotrader.com. Some dealers over there have some beauties for a mere $27k. But seriously there are some on there that are priced well and seem to be in good condition. Also, check the classifieds. Everyone wants to sell their R for one reason or another.

 

I have a mint condition black 2000 R for sale. 9400 miles for $23,500.

Never raced beaten or anything else you can think of.

Must sell to pay for grandpa`s heart surgery. Any profit after that goes towards beer. So you can see it`s a good cause.

 

well use a figure or 1200 a year for 4 years equals 4800 total imported into the US. Heard that's the figure for 2000, and 2001 but have heard its only like 750 or so either 97,98 model year can't remeber which. so take 4800 and subtract 1440 u get 3,360 left in the US not counting any imported over from canada. Even still with about 5,000 imported into the country total production run is still a nice rare car these days, makes u feel all warm inside knowing that u have 1.

 

For 97, 98,and 2000 there is a total of 2500 ITR. 750 for 2001.
May be 5 to 10% that is in good condition.
I live in Greenville, SC. There is only 10 ITR here and 9 of them are wreck.
My is the only perfect one in is town, Got it in March 16, 2001 only got 6200 miles
on it.

i think it's safe to say that we're losing 1-2 R per day, and you can do the math

 

I thought that the numbers for USDM were:

97: 480
98: 1000
00: 1500
01: 1500

That equals about 4500, that means that here are still a lot out there. Guess they're just layin low??

Some old ladies might have just bought one because it was a "cute" yellow color. I was eating outside Alpine Bagels once, my car was parked right in front of me, and these two OLD ladies walked by, looked at my car, and said; "that is such a cute car!"

 

Alright, now we just have 4,499 left to account for!

 

But I do know definetly that driveable RX7-FDs are fewer than ITRs...I think their imported numbers are also fewer than ITRs...like less than a thousand per earlier years.

 

Those are the numbers I've heard as well but I think these numbers are for North America (Canada and US) and not just USDM.

That number was stored away somewhere in my head but I'd bet money on it.

 

I think that there are more in MY 2000 and 2001 than you suggested because I have a 2000 #1530; so I'm guestimating that there are about 2000 R's in the '00 MY as well as the '01 MY.

I thought in 2001, there were 1500 Yellow, 1500 black, same in 2000, yellow and black, 97 - 480, 98 - 1000 That means 7480 total Rs - probably 5500 left? maybe?

 

I have seen someone with the S/N blk ITR #1825 or something. there was also a dude on here named TypeR1558.

 

Remember, the ITR serial number is sequentially numbered from the factory worldwide. So ITR # 1401 could be USDM and ITR #1402 could be JDM or Europe or Australia. At least this is what I heard.

 

Still have mine PY 2001 ITR #26, no damage & no mods yet...
