WHAT IS THE GAS SMELL 24/7 NEED HELP?
hey guys I just completed a turbo full built and I'm breaking the motor in so far I got 500 miles on it. But since day one I feel this like gas fumes. i already check all connection etc and I see no leaks. I have no idea where is coming from and is getting annoying anybody got the same problem? how did you fix it or it is just the new motor suppose to be like that for a couple of miles?
I don't think it's that, because mine was the same with a cat, and without. Are you talking about inside the cabin? I think it may be because of an open valve cover vent. . .

I even turn the car on and try to go all over the engine to see if I can feel where the smell is coming from. I run the car and I smell the ac vents nothing! and again I'm left with the WTF.. trying to figure it out

Any place you have a connection on your fuel line. Check your injector seals, lines coming in/going out of your fuel rail.

Wiggle your injectors a bit. My fuel rail cam loose and injector #4 was spraying a fine mist of fuel al over my engine bay when it got shook.

i forgot what they are called but buy one of those "detectors" that detect gas.you run the "detector" along where gas flows, the stronger the scent the louder the beep, the louder the beep and you found the problem...just ask a store about this and they should know

Show me a link to one.
I wasn't aware that they made one for gasoline. If you can show me, then I stand corrected and apoligize. Otherwise.....Ban all '04 members.

i had that problem before it made my car smell like gas. the first time i drove it made my eyes water in my case i think it was a leak at my manifold i dont know exactly where but when i retightened everything the smell went away.
