Default broken screw, valve cover leak

I took my valve cover off to sand it and when I put in back on I broke one screw. If standing in front of the valve cover, the first left screw broke(tightened it too much) Here is the thing, it is leaking from the back to in the lower right and not from the front were the screw broke. Does that have anything to do with the broken screw or do I need a new gasket?? Thanks in advanced.

nothing to do with head gasket, remove the cover and make sure the valve cover gasket is seated right
