Default Which Rings to use?

So here's the problem, I used JE Rings on my last motor

did the hard break in, and one of the rings broke.

What rings are guys using on their all motor setups? mine's nothing crazy, b16,ctr pistons, gsr head

TIA

He says he has ctr pistons. In that case they would be no larger then 81.25mm. That ring size is available from honda of course.

i use totalseal rings, and like they are designed, they have kept blow by and leakdown around the rings to a minimum. i love them(except the price) and would either use them or oem honda

total seal rings are actually prime for the increased combustion pressures of nitrous and other forced induction as well

D id you buy " file fit rings" and not check the end gap? What was the end gap? Rings do not normally break without a reason, stock piston maybe, but not rings unless they are butting the ends.

yeah but he said he did the hard break-in , and i was considering to do the same after i build my motor, is there a possibility these rings cant handle this way of break-in?

yes these were file fit rings

i gapped all the rings to spec. je spec.

i spent the better prt of a day sitting there filing each ring

so total seal works, aswell as hastings

i was going for a chrome moly ring, there another type out there ____ moly, does anyone know or am i sniffing too much varsol
