Default Found a shifter I like better than the ITR piece...

Took about an hour and a half today and put on the Evasive Motorsports short shifter. I picked it up for a clean $35. I was a bit sceptical at first, I did some research and there was a lot of good feedback on it. My biggest concern was making sure I wasn't buying an aluminum shifter. This thing is solid steel...very well constructed. Pics...

OEM shifter and linkage:

Driving impressions: Shifts are very crisp and clean. I'd guess about a 30% shorter shift distance. True flick-of-the-wrist shifting. Best $35 I've spent in a long time.

That looks nice. Its got a little more of an angle on it than the stock one. I'll have to pick one of those up. How smooth are the shifts?

appears to be to short. Is it comfortable to reach that far down?

im running a skunk2 dual bend shifter.. and @ high RPM's it starts to make a buzz'in noise. I swapped my bushings out with engergy and it still makes it cant seem to find the culprit

Ya, looks like quite a reach to me, but I'm biased.

If the shaft is the same length from the socket to the bolting point it should not have too much effect.

My problem is I want a higher shifter but throws no longer than the OEM ITR shifter.

Impossible.

Pooface's shifter is taller and a shorter throw. I found it very nice to use ( mind you the turbo made the whole car very nice to use! )

Wow!!! didn't know you could lower your shifter also!!! extreme tuner we have here!!!
How's the performance side of that? Lower center of gravity=better handling!!!

i agree. long shifters are all the rage, although i can see the fun in having to reach down in the floorboard to shift your car

C'mon people. The shifter is the same distance from you. It's just an inch lower.

That's not the problem - the problem is you now make the shifter further away from the steering wheel (where your hands need to be at all times)

I rawk the Fastline RR shifter

Very true if you track your car often. I don't.

I really don't have any experience with them, but Big Phat R does.

I hear it's about the same length though.

Well, I just ordered one (the Fastline RR, not the Evasive). Guess I'll find out soon.
