Do a leakdown test. That will tell you exactly what is bent/broken and not holding compression...
Either way, sounds like the head is gonna have to come off. Hope its only bent valves!

i bet u cracked one of ur valves? do u have any upgraded valves in ur car? skunk2 valves are known for break n which will give u zero compression on that cylinder
Check leakage with carb or brake parts cleaner, or take it to a machine shop that can test it with a port leak-down tester. That will tell you the minimum number of valves you'll need to buy.
11K-12K?? did u misshift. i remeber i mishifted once. i was on the phone and at redline on my LS (6.8K) and was go n to shift from 4th to 5th but ended up go n into third. i overevved the motor but i clutched down really qucik. i seen my tach go all the way past 8K. **** was scary as hell. car has been driving okay since then. i should do a leak down test on my motor... just to make sure. this happened about 3 weeks ago

My friend accidently did that twice in his b16 and it still ran fine, just not to 9500 but the rpm needle did go off the tach

This was the first and only time with high lift cams.
