Went junkyarding today, need some help.
Sorry if this should be in the hybrid forum but they don't give me help fast enough. I was searching around at junkyards today because last night i crashed my civic and fucked up the door and quarterpanel. I just replaced them last summer because the previous owner hit a deer.
So i bought a fender and while searching around i found a new si hatch sitting in the yard.....and asked how much i could get the engine for. He said that one wasn't for sale but they had a 02 si with 17,000 miles and the complete swap axels and ecu, tranny and everything for $2500 .
I am wondering if that is a good deal and what kind of engine that even is? Also is this swap a hard swap and how long could i do it in? Could someone please help me

[QUOTE=civiccpedx]is that what the engine is?? How hard of swap is it? thanks for the fast response[/QUOTE
there's plenty of threads that discuss the k20 into *insert your chassis here* there are kits available for the entire swap. the price is a little high still compared to going b-series. just do a search on k20's and you find hours of info. btw 2500 is an average price for a usdm k20. i seen em lower and higher.

k20a3 is a crappy motor until you slap a k20a or a2 head on it. Price is okay, but you will need to dump another $1 maybe 2 Gs just to get all the parts for the swap. And b16 should whoop that motor with it's stock head.

Yeah, from what I understand that head is no good. Sounds like a good deal, but keep in mind that you are getting the weak k-motor

I would think this over before buying it. I mean you will need to buy **** load of parts for a swap, plus wiring is a bitch. And you will still prolly get owned by b series hatches.
