Default How much should I pay?

Hey everyone. This is my first post on honda-tech. I just sold my 93 Ford ProbeGT and I'm thinking about buying a 97 Prelude from an auto auction where I work. The car is a 97 Prelude MTX. Has 93000 miles on it, but the body is a little busted up. The bumper is cracked, hood is dented with some rust, drivers headlight is busted out and the drivers fender is dented with some rust also. There's quite a few dings and scratches all around it too. It run's really strong though. How much do you guys think this car would be worth. And also...are these Preludes reliable and do they last a long time? Are they easy to work on? Just fill me in on some of the pros and cons of these cars. This will be my first Honda. Thanks a lot guys

If the engine runs and starts right away without hesitation, i'd pay about $3000 THIS IS BASED on the stuff that is wrong with it.

Now, the preludes or any honda can last a long time, taking in consideration YOU DO the regular maintenance on it. Oil change, brakes, trans flush, plugs, timing belt and blah blah blah.

Welcome to honda-tech.com and i felt nice by not giving you **** because this has been covered too many times, next time do a query on the top right hand corner where it says search. https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch

thanks!!

Thanks for the info. Yeah, I should have known about that search button. I just have to get used to this new site. It's a lot different that my Probetalk.com site. Trust me, I take care of my cars very well. My ProbeGT had 167000 on it and everyone said it was one of their favorite probes on probetalk. It's so sad to see it go But we're movin' on to the HONDA!

Anybody else got any tips for me??

Make sure the timing belt and associated work has been done, if not that will set you back around $700 and it's overdue on age alone if it's not been done already. So bear in mind when you make any offers.
