Default The "magic" intake

+16 WHP and +17 FT-LBS TORQUE at 4800 RPMs from a $50 cold air extension...now who wants to aregue that isnt a deal?

The intake tube is 38" long (from TB to filter - not including filter itself) and 3" in diameter using a generic $20 cone filter. The first part of the intak is a DC D.A.C. and the extension is made by Injen.

The runs were done back to back maybe 3-4 minutes apart, one with the extension on..the other with it off.

wow.................that's nice...........

i remember when i had the AEM CAI which was 2.5" it felt like it was restricting at higher RPM's.

i made a custom 3" CAI and it "felt" much better.......more power too......

Do you think a GSR would get the same kind of results?

cr and cams are making power, or rather, the stock airbox is a bottleneck... ever try dyno w/ just an aem cai?

Lordy, look at that peak at 4800 RPM! Must be some kind of resonance supercharging effect. Methinks you got extremely lucky...

I never understood why Iceman didn't get all the hype AEM did
Because the Iceman does not maintain a consistent diameter throughout it's tubing as does the AEM, the Iceman works because it IS delivering colder air when the 'Race extension' is used... but anyone can sell a long tube that gets colder air to the intake, but the AEM uses technology to design an all around better intake.

The Iceman works, but it's really just like other CAI's, it's pluses are : Cold Air, and a plastic (read that heat resistant) housing.
